Grey Tide

I painted this mandala after a visit to West Runton beach on the Norfolk coast on a windy, overcast day - the kind of day when the sky hangs low and the sea turns every shade of grey. My daughter and I had walked along West Runton beach with the wind rushing around us, the white-capped waves crashing onto the beach and pulling back again. There was a wild kind of beauty in that moment: muted colours, restless water, and the calm that sits beneath it all. This piece carries that memory: a windswept shoreline, a shared moment, and the quiet stillness hidden inside an overcast day. I hope it brings a sense of grounding and coastal calm to your space, just as creating it brought me back the memory of that day.
